BUILD MENUS AND NAVIGATION FOR YOUR LAUNCHMYSTORE

A clear navigation menu helps shoppers find what they want fast. LaunchMyStore
lets you build separate menus for the header, footer, mobile drawer, and any
custom location your theme supports. This guide walks through creating menus and
adding the right link types.


WHERE MENUS LIVE

Menus are managed under Online Store > Navigation in your admin. Every store
ships with a default Main menu (header) and Footer menu. You can edit those or
create new menus for use in specific theme blocks.


CREATE OR EDIT A MENU

 1. Go to Online Store > Navigation.

 2. Click Add menu to start from scratch, or click an existing menu to edit it.

 3. Give the menu a clear handle (e.g. main-menu, footer-policies) so you can
    reference it from your theme.

 4. Click Add menu item to start adding links.

 5. Drag items to reorder them. Drag an item under another to create a submenu
    (drop-down).


LINK TYPES


PAGES

Link to any published page from your store (About, Shipping, FAQ, etc.). Pick
the page from the dropdown and the link is generated automatically.


PRODUCTS

Highlight a hero product, a bestseller, or a new arrival. Search the product,
set the display label, and add it to the menu.


CATEGORIES (COLLECTIONS)

Link to a category page so shoppers can browse a group of products. Categories
work great as parent items with sub-products nested under them to create mega
menus.


BLOG POSTS AND BLOGS

Link to an article you want to feature, or to a whole blog (for example a "News"
or "Guides" feed).


CUSTOM LINKS

Paste any URL: a campaign landing page, an external site, a help-center article,
a tel: or mailto: link, or an anchor on the current page (#section).


NEST ITEMS TO MAKE DROPDOWNS AND MEGA MENUS

Drag a menu item slightly to the right under another item to nest it. Most
themes will render two-level nesting as a dropdown, and three-level nesting as a
mega menu (depending on the theme).


SAVE AND ASSIGN THE MENU

Click Save menu to publish your changes. Themes pick up menus by handle: your
header section will use whichever menu you select in the theme customizer under
Online Store > Themes > Customize > Header.


FAQ


HOW MANY MENUS CAN I CREATE?

There is no hard limit. Most stores have one header menu, one footer menu, and
sometimes a mobile-only menu. Themes can reference any menu by its handle.


CAN I ADD ICONS TO MENU ITEMS?

Some themes support icons or images on menu items (especially in mega menus).
Check the theme customizer for icon options, or use a theme block extension from
the App Store.


WHY IS MY NEW MENU ITEM NOT SHOWING ON THE STOREFRONT?

First, make sure you saved the menu. Then confirm that the theme is using that
menu: go to Online Store > Themes > Customize > Header and check the Menu
setting. If you edited a non-default menu, the theme may still be pointing at
the original.


CAN DIFFERENT THEMES SHOW DIFFERENT MENUS?

Yes. Menus are independent of themes. You can keep the same menus across themes,
or change which menu a theme references in its customizer settings.


HOW DO I LINK TO A SECTION ON THE CURRENT PAGE?

Use a custom link with an anchor URL like /#about or
/products/my-product#reviews. The browser will scroll the visitor to the
matching element on load.
