Configure shipping rates for your store

Shipping rates control what your customers pay for delivery at checkout. LaunchMyStore lets you set per-zone rates, free-shipping thresholds, weight-based or price-based tiers, and live rates from carrier apps. You can also adjust shipping with delivery customization apps and offer in-store pickup.

Where to configure rates

Open the admin and go to Settings → Shipping & Delivery. From here you build shipping zones and attach rate rules to each one.

1. Create a zone

A zone is a group of countries / states that share the same rate table.

  1. Click Add zone.
  2. Name it (for example Domestic, EU, Rest of World).
  3. Add countries or states the zone covers.
  4. Save.

2. Add rates to the zone

Inside a zone, pick how prices are calculated:

Flat rate per order

One fixed amount per order, for example $5. The rate is added to every order shipped to this zone unless a free-shipping threshold applies first.

Free shipping (always or above threshold)

Use this for promos or large-cart incentives. Example: free shipping on orders above $50. Below the threshold, the flat or price-based rate applies.

Price-based tiers

Different rates depending on the subtotal:

  • $0–$25 → $5
  • $25–$50 → $3
  • $50+ → free

Weight-based tiers

Use the order's total weight (sum of product weights) to pick a rate:

  • 0–500 g → $4
  • 500 g–2 kg → $8
  • 2 kg+ → $15

Live carrier rates

If you have a carrier app installed (Shippo, EasyPost, Sendcloud, or LaunchMyStore Delivery), enable Live rates at checkout in the app. Customers see real courier prices and pick the service level they prefer.

3. Local pickup (optional)

If you have a physical warehouse or store, offer in-store pickup. Pickup orders skip shipping charges and the buyer picks a pickup location at checkout.

Common setups

  • Free shipping everywhere — set a single zone covering all countries with one rate of $0.
  • Flat fee, free above threshold — flat rate $5 + free shipping rate with $50 minimum on the same zone.
  • Premium and economy options — add two rates ("Standard $5" and "Express $15") to the same zone so the buyer can pick.
  • Heavy items — weight-based tiers so larger orders pay more.

App-driven adjustments

Apps installed from the marketplace can:

  • Inject custom rates — for example a courier app that pulls live rates from a regional carrier.
  • Rename or reorder rates — "Standard" becomes "Free 3-day delivery", or premium options appear first.
  • Hide rates — hide premium services from customers who don't qualify (for example based on cart total).

FAQ

Can I charge per-product shipping?

Shipping in LaunchMyStore is calculated per order, not per product. Use product weight + weight-based zone rates if you need shipping cost to scale with what's in the cart. For more advanced per-SKU rules, install a delivery customization app.

How do I offer free shipping only with a coupon?

Create a discount code under Marketing → Discounts and set Free shipping as the discount type. The shipping rate at checkout becomes $0 when the code is applied.

Why does the checkout say "No shipping methods available"?

The customer's destination is not covered by any active zone, or the cart conditions (weight, price) fall outside every rate's range. Extend the zone or widen the rate's price/weight range.

Can I block shipping to certain countries?

Yes — simply do not include those countries in any zone. Buyers from blocked countries see "No shipping methods available" at checkout.

Do digital products need shipping rates?

No. Mark the product as digital in the catalog. Digital-only orders skip the shipping step at checkout.

How are tax and shipping combined?

Tax is calculated on the order subtotal and (optionally) on shipping, based on your tax settings. Configure under Settings → Taxes.
