Nova AI credits, plans, and pricing
Nova is LaunchMyStore's built-in AI assistant. Instead of clicking through 20 admin screens to launch a campaign, you describe what you want in plain English and Nova performs the actions on your store. Billing is credit-based: you buy a pool of credits, Nova spends them when it acts, and you top up or change tiers whenever your usage shifts.
The credit model in one sentence
Every tool call Nova makes costs 10 credits.
A "tool call" is one concrete action — creating a product, listing orders, drafting an email, refunding a charge, attaching a tag, etc. A single conversation usually contains a handful of tool calls. Reading and reasoning between calls is free; you only pay for actions that touch your data.
Examples of credit usage
- "Show me this week's abandoned carts" → 1 tool call → 10 credits.
- "Create a 20% off coupon for new customers and email it to my Newsletter list" → 2 tool calls (create coupon, queue email) → 20 credits.
- "Refund order #1042 and restock the items" → 1 tool call → 10 credits.
- "Generate descriptions for the 8 products I just imported" → 8 tool calls → 80 credits.
The constant is fixed in the backend (NOVA_CREDITS_PER_TOOL_CALL = 10) and does not vary by tool complexity. Token-heavy and token-light operations bill the same — pricing is action-based, not LLM-token-based.
Three tiers, two cadences
You pick a tier based on how heavily you intend to use Nova, and a cadence (monthly or annual) based on your cash-flow preference. Annual is roughly two months free at every tier.
Standard pricing matrix
| Tier | Cadence | Credits | Price | Per 1k |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spark | Monthly | 2,000 | $9 | $4.50 |
| Spark | Annual | 24,000 | $90 | $3.75 |
| Boost (recommended) | Monthly | 12,000 | $39 | $3.25 |
| Boost (recommended) | Annual | 144,000 | $390 | $2.71 |
| Studio | Monthly | 50,000 | $99 | $1.98 |
| Studio | Annual | 600,000 | $990 | $1.65 |
Which tier should you pick?
- Spark — fits a side-project store running ~10–15 AI-assisted actions per day. Good if Nova is occasional.
- Boost (recommended) — fits a real working store that uses Nova daily for product creation, customer support drafts, and marketing tasks. Recommended for most users.
- Studio — fits agencies, multi-brand operators, and stores running Nova in scheduled/automated mode. Lowest per-credit cost.
Plan credits vs add-on credits
Your base LaunchMyStore plan (Starter, Gold, Platinum) includes a small monthly Nova allowance that refills on each renewal — useful for trying Nova out. Once that allowance runs out, you either wait for renewal or buy a Nova credit add-on (Spark/Boost/Studio). Plan credits and add-on credits live in the same pool — Nova spends whichever is largest first.
Buying, upgrading, and cancelling
Open Nova → Credits in your admin. You'll see a card for each tier with a Stripe-powered checkout button. Purchases process via Stripe in your store's currency — no separate billing portal needed. Upgrading takes effect immediately (prorated); downgrading takes effect at the end of the current period.
Out-of-credits behaviour
If you run out of credits mid-conversation, Nova politely stops at the next action and prompts you to top up. Already-completed actions in the conversation are not rolled back — only the next un-billed call is blocked. You can finish a topped-up purchase and resume the same conversation thread; Nova retains context.
FAQ
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Credits reset on every renewal. Pick the tier and cadence that matches your real usage so you don't buy more than you'll use. If you regularly under-spend, drop a tier; if you keep topping up, climb one.
What happens when I run out of credits mid-conversation?
Nova stops at the next tool call and shows a top-up link. Actions already executed earlier in the conversation are kept; the unbilled action waits. After topping up, ask Nova to continue and it picks up from the same context.
Is my data sent to a third-party LLM?
Nova uses Anthropic's Claude as the underlying model. Your prompt and the tool-call results (product names, order data, etc.) are sent to Anthropic to generate the response. Anthropic does not train on this data per their commercial terms. Sensitive PII (customer addresses, payment data) is redacted before transit.
Can I switch between Spark, Boost, and Studio?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current cadence (you keep your remaining credits until then).
Is there a free trial?
Your base plan includes a monthly Nova allowance — Trial 100, Starter 500, Gold 1,000, Platinum 2,000 credits. Use those to try Nova before committing to an add-on.
Do I need a credit add-on if Nova is only for occasional use?
If your plan-included credits cover your usage, no. Add-ons exist for stores that exceed the base allowance every month.
