Bulk-update order status
When you have many orders to process at once — accepting new orders, marking them shipped, marking them delivered, or printing labels — you can act on them in bulk from the Orders list instead of opening each one individually.
How to bulk-update
- Open the admin and go to Orders.
- Tick the checkbox next to each order you want to act on, or click the header checkbox to select every order on the page.
- Click Bulk actions at the top of the list.
- Pick the action: Accept, Mark as shipped, Mark as delivered, Cancel, Print packing slips, Print labels, Send shipment notification, or Export.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Each affected order gets a status update timestamp, and any notification emails configured for the new status are sent automatically.
Filter, then bulk-act
To act only on a subset, filter the Orders list first — by status, channel, payment method, fulfilment status, warehouse, or date range. Then "select all" picks up just the filtered rows. This is the fastest way to (for example) ship every paid order from a single warehouse.
Bulk actions you can take
- Accept orders — moves new orders to accepted / processing.
- Mark as fulfilled / shipped — supplies a tracking number and carrier (optional).
- Mark as delivered — closes the fulfilment loop.
- Cancel — cancels with optional restocking and refund.
- Print packing slips / shipping labels — generates a single PDF.
- Send shipment notification email — resends the email with tracking link.
- Export — download as CSV for accountants or 3PL.
- Add tags — helpful for grouping orders by campaign, channel, or fulfilment batch.
FAQ
How many orders can I bulk-update at once?
You can select up to 250 orders per bulk action. If you need more, filter first and run the action in batches, or use the API for very large jobs.
Does bulk fulfilment send tracking emails?
Yes — once you supply a tracking number and carrier, the shipment confirmation email is queued automatically for every order in the batch.
Can my staff perform bulk actions?
Only staff whose role includes the corresponding permission. For example the Employee role can mark orders shipped, but not cancel or refund them.
Will inventory be restocked on bulk cancel?
Yes, if you tick the Restock option in the cancel dialog. Inventory movements are logged per SKU so you can see exactly what was returned to stock.
Can I undo a bulk action?
Some actions are reversible (re-open a cancelled order, undo a fulfilment) and some are not (refund). The activity log records every action so you can see what happened and by whom.
