Add license documents for regulated businesses

If you sell pharmacy products, alcohol, healthcare items, firearms, or any other regulated category, you can attach your business license and supporting documents to your LaunchMyStore account. This helps with payment-gateway underwriting, app marketplace listings that require it, and any compliance checks your buyers' regions enforce.

Where to add license details

1. Open the admin and go to Account → Business details.
2. Under Business category, choose the regulated category that fits (for example Pharmacy & Medical Care, Alcohol, Healthcare).
3. Fill in the License / Registration number field.
4. Upload supporting documents (license PDF/image, regulator-issued certificate, government ID where required).
5. Click Save.

Document types you can upload

• Trade or pharmacy license issued by your local authority.
• Drug license (form 20/21 in some jurisdictions, equivalent elsewhere).
• Alcohol retail or wholesale license.
• Healthcare or telemedicine practitioner registration.
• Any other regulator-issued certificate that applies to your category.

Accepted file types: PDF, JPG, PNG. Maximum size: 10 MB per file.

Why this matters

• Payment gateways — Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, and other providers may require the license to underwrite regulated categories.
• App marketplace — some shipping carriers and delivery apps refuse to ship regulated SKUs without a license on file.
• Buyer trust — licenses can be displayed in the storefront footer using a theme block, giving customers confidence in your store.

FAQ

Is uploading a license mandatory?

Only if your category is regulated in your country (pharmacy, alcohol, healthcare, etc.). For unregulated categories, leave the license fields blank.

Can I show my license number on the storefront?

Yes. Many themes include a Legal info footer block where you can render your license number, regulator name, and expiry. Some themes expose this through theme settings; others use a metafield.

How is my license document stored?

Documents are uploaded to encrypted object storage and are not visible on the public storefront. They are accessible to the account owner, our compliance team, and payment partners when required for verification.

I sell in multiple regions — can I attach more than one license?

Yes — the documents field accepts multiple uploads. Name each file clearly (for example pharmacy_license_NY.pdf) so reviewers can tell them apart.

What if my license expires?

Re-upload the renewed document under the same field. We will replace the previous version and the expiry date you enter is checked at renewal time.
