Verify your business to lift gateway transaction limits
Most payment gateways apply an initial cap on how much you can process until your business is verified. The cap exists to prevent fraud and is removed once you submit business and identity documents. Verification is run by the gateway (Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, etc.), not by LaunchMyStore.
What "verification" means
Different gateways call it different things:
- Stripe — business profile + identity verification.
- PayPal — account confirmation + business verification.
- Razorpay — KYC (government-issued ID / PAN / GST + bank account).
- Regional gateways — equivalent KYB / KYC procedures.
In every case the gateway asks for documents that prove your identity, business existence, and bank ownership.
Typical documents
- Government-issued photo ID of the business owner.
- A live selfie or video for biometric matching.
- Business registration certificate (LLC, Pvt Ltd, sole proprietor declaration).
- Tax / VAT / GST number where applicable.
- Bank account proof (cancelled cheque, statement, or bank-provided document).
- Address proof for the business.
Where to complete the verification
Business and identity verification happens in the gateway's own dashboard — not inside LaunchMyStore. In your store admin, Settings → Payments is where you connect a gateway (by entering its API keys), but the documents themselves are submitted to the gateway directly.
- Sign in to your gateway's own dashboard (Stripe Dashboard, PayPal account, Razorpay Dashboard, or your regional gateway's portal).
- Open its account / business verification (or KYC) section.
- Submit the requested documents and details on the gateway's secure form.
- Once approved by the gateway, your processing cap is lifted automatically — no change is needed in LaunchMyStore.
If you haven't connected the gateway to your store yet, open Settings → Payments, choose Add Payment Gateway, pick your provider, and enter the API keys from your gateway dashboard. Razorpay uses a sign-in (authorization) flow that takes you to Razorpay to connect your account.
How long does it take?
Most submissions are reviewed within 24–48 hours. Complex businesses (regulated categories, high-risk MCC codes) can take 5–10 business days.
While verification is pending
- You can still take orders, but the gateway may hold payouts in a pending balance until verification clears.
- You can also enable Cash on Delivery in parallel so orders keep flowing.
- Once verified, the cap is removed and pending payouts release on the gateway's normal schedule.
FAQ
What's the cap before verification?
Depends on the gateway and country. Stripe typically allows test-volume processing before verification; Razorpay caps at a low transaction amount; PayPal limits withdrawals until confirmation. Check your gateway dashboard for the current cap.
What if my verification is rejected?
Re-submit with clearer document photos, correct details, or contact the gateway's support team. LaunchMyStore cannot override the gateway's verification decision.
Do I need to verify if I only do COD?
No — COD does not go through a gateway. You only need verification if you accept online payments.
Is my data stored on LaunchMyStore?
No. Verification documents go directly to the gateway (Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay). LaunchMyStore does not store the underlying documents.
Where do I check verification status?
Inside the gateway's own dashboard (Stripe Dashboard, PayPal account, Razorpay Dashboard, etc.). LaunchMyStore shows whether a gateway is connected under Settings → Payments, but the verification status itself is tracked by the gateway.
