Show your customer a UPI QR code for the exact bill amount. They scan it with any UPI app and the sale is recorded as UPI. You can confirm payments yourself or let Razorpay confirm them automatically.
Before you start
- Your store's country must be India.
- The UPI QR payments feature is on by default in the Quick billing style. In Standard, switch it on under More > Register style.
Set up UPI
- Go to More > Billing > UPI and switch on Accept UPI QR payments.
- Enter your UPI ID (VPA) — for example shopname@okaxis — and the Name shown to the customer.
- Scan the ₹1 test QR with your phone to check it.
- Under Confirm UPI payments, choose how payments are confirmed (below), then save.
Option 1: the cashier confirms
Choose The cashier checks the customer's phone.
- At checkout, choose UPI QR. The QR shows the exact amount.
- Wait until the payment shows in your UPI app or soundbox.
- Optionally enter the UTR / reference, then click Payment received.
Option 2: Razorpay confirms automatically
Choose Automatically, through Razorpay and connect your Razorpay account under Store Settings > Payments.
- At checkout, choose UPI QR. The register makes a single-use QR for this bill, valid for 15 minutes.
- The customer pays. The register sees the payment and completes the sale by itself.
Each payment is checked with Razorpay before the sale is saved, so one payment can only pay one bill. With Let the cashier confirm a UPI payment by hand switched on, a Confirm by hand button is also there for when the check is slow.
Good to know
- Offline, the register shows the QR for your own UPI ID, and the cashier confirms. See Using the POS offline.
- In a Split Payment, a UPI part is recorded as paid without showing a QR — check the payment on your UPI app first.
- UPI sales appear under UPI in the Payment modes report.
