Use the Customers section to manage your audience

The Customers section in your LaunchMyStore admin is the single place where you can see who is buying from you, segment them, reach out to them, and reward loyal repeat buyers. This guide walks through what is in the Customers section and how to use it well.

What you see in the Customers section

Go to Customers from your admin sidebar. You will see a list of every shopper who has placed an order, signed up for an account, or subscribed to your newsletter. Each row shows:

  • Name and contact (email, phone)

  • Number of orders placed

  • Total spend across the lifetime of the customer

  • Last order date

  • Tags you've applied (e.g. VIP, wholesale, block)

  • Account status (signed up, guest checkout, blocked)

Segment customers

Use the filter bar at the top of the list to narrow customers by:

  • New — customers with their first order

  • Returning — customers who have ordered more than once

  • Imported — customers added via CSV or backend integration

  • Tag, spend range, country, or signup date

You can combine filters (e.g. customers from a specific country who have spent over $200 in the last 90 days) and save the segment for re-use.

Add a customer manually

  1. Click Add customer.

  2. Enter the customer's name and at least one of email or phone.

  3. Optionally add an address, tags, and notes.

  4. Click Save.

Manually-added customers can be invited to set a password and turn into full accounts.

Bulk import customers

If you are migrating from another platform, use Import > CSV to load thousands of customers at once. The CSV template includes columns for name, email, phone, tags, addresses, and metafields.

Customer detail page

Click any customer to open their detail page. From there you can:

  • See every order, cart, and refund tied to them

  • Edit addresses, contact info, and tags

  • Add private notes for your team

  • Send a password-reset or account-activation email

  • Delete the customer (for GDPR / data-subject requests)

Reward and re-engage

Once you have a segment, you can:

  • Generate a discount code that only that segment can use

  • Export the segment as a CSV for an email or SMS campaign

  • Pair with a marketing app from the App Store (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)

Block a customer

To stop a customer from placing more orders, open their detail page and add the tag block. Only the exact tag block will prevent future orders — variants like blocked or blocking are ignored. Remove the tag to lift the block.

FAQ

Do customers need an account to buy from me?

No. LaunchMyStore supports guest checkout out of the box. Customers can also create an account to track orders, save addresses, and re-order faster.

How do I export my customer list?

From the Customers list, click Export and pick the columns you want. Exports are emailed to you as a CSV file.

Can I see the marketing-consent status of my customers?

Yes. The customer detail page shows whether they have opted in to email or SMS marketing. You can also filter the customer list by marketing-consent status.

How do I delete customer data on request?

Open the customer detail page and click Delete. This removes their personal data while keeping anonymized order records for accounting.

Can I tag customers automatically?

Yes. You can use rules-based automations (via the App Store or your own functions) to tag customers when they hit thresholds — for example, automatically tagging anyone who spends over $500 as VIP.
