The waiter app lets your staff take orders at the table on their phones and send them straight to the kitchen. Payment still happens at the register.

Before you start

Open the app on a phone

  1. On the register, go to More > Restaurant and click Waiter app. A QR code appears.
  2. Scan it with the phone's camera.
  3. Sign in to your store's admin account on the phone (once).
  4. On Who's using POS?, the waiter picks their name and enters their PIN.

Tap Lock to hand the phone to the next person.

Take an order

  1. Tap a table and choose how many guests, then Done. Tables show free, running, Food ready or Bill requested.
  2. On Menu, search, tap a favourite or browse by category. Items with options or add-ons ask for them.
  3. On Order, change quantities and tap Add note for kitchen notes like "no onion" or "extra spicy".
  4. Tap Send to kitchen. Only new items are sent.

Items not yet sent stay on the phone as a draft for 12 hours. If you leave the order, the app asks whether to send them, keep them or discard them.

Food ready and the bill

  • When the kitchen marks a ticket ready, a Kitchen: ready banner appears. Tap Picked up once you have taken the food.
  • Tap Request bill when the guests are done. The cashier sees Bill requested next to the table in Held bills on the register.

When several people work on one table

  • Several waiters can add to the same table — each phone adds its own items without overwriting the others.
  • If the table is open on the register, the phone shows Open at till. Ask the cashier to save it before adding items, or they may be left off the bill.
  • If the table is moved or paid at the register, the phone shows it.
