Store Preferences and Settings: An Overview
The Settings area is where you configure how your store operates — from how orders are handled, to which currencies you accept, to who has staff access. This article is a map of the most important settings pages and what each one controls.
Store details
Settings → Store details. Your store name, contact email, billing address, default phone, time zone, weight unit, and currency. Most of these values feed every other page on the platform, so set them first.
Domains
Settings → Domains. Your free subdomain (yourstore.launchmystore.io) plus any custom domains you've connected. Set the primary domain — the canonical URL search engines will index.
Localization
Settings → Markets / Localization. Which countries you sell to, which currencies you accept, and whether prices are converted automatically. The storefront uses this to drive the country/currency picker.
Payments
Settings → Payments. Connect Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, and other gateways. Enable manual payment methods (bank transfer, money order). Configure cash on delivery, including which countries and order conditions it's available for.
Shipping
Settings → Shipping. Shipping zones, rates per zone, free-shipping thresholds, and warehouse locations.
Taxes
Settings → Taxes. Per-jurisdiction tax rates, included-in-price vs added-at-checkout, registration numbers (VAT, GST, ABN).
Checkout
Settings → Checkout. Custom checkout fields, accounts (guest checkout / required), abandoned-cart recovery, post-purchase customizations.
Notifications
Settings → Notifications. Email and SMS templates: order confirmation, shipping update, password reset. Branding (logo, colors, sender name).
Policies
Settings → Policies. Privacy, refund, terms, shipping policy. Templates are provided; you should review and customize them.
Staff and permissions
Settings → Staff. Invite team members, assign roles (Manager, Staff, etc.), and (for multi-store accounts) manage sub-stores tied to a parent account.
Preferences
Settings → Preferences. Catalog-wide toggles: auto-accept orders, inventory tracking defaults, low-stock alerts, default order status, and similar store-wide behaviour.
FAQ
Where do I change my store currency?
Settings → Store details sets the default currency. Markets / Localization controls which additional currencies shoppers can switch to.
How do I add a staff member?
Settings → Staff → Add staff. Pick a role; they'll receive an email invite to set their password.
Can I have different settings for different sub-stores?
Yes. Multi-store accounts use a parent-child structure — each sub-store gets its own settings, products, orders, theme, and domain, while billing and ownership roll up to the parent.
Why do some menu items show different settings to my staff?
Staff roles can be restricted to certain sections. Edit a staff member's role to grant or revoke access (e.g. give a fulfilment user access to Orders but not Settings).
Where do I configure abandoned-cart recovery?
Settings → Notifications → Abandoned cart. You can edit the email template and the delay before it's sent.
