Uploading Your Store Logo
Your logo is shown in the storefront header on every page, on transactional emails, on invoices, and at checkout. A clean, sharp logo is one of the cheapest ways to look professional.
Recommended logo specs
- Format — SVG (sharpest, scales to any size) or transparent PNG.
- Background — transparent so it sits cleanly on light or dark headers.
- Dimensions — rectangular, with at least 240px width. Most themes show the recommended pixel size next to the upload button.
- File size — under 200 KB if possible.
Uploading the logo
- Go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.
- Click the Header section in the left sidebar.
- Click the logo image picker and either Upload a new file or pick one from the Media library.
- Adjust logo width using the range slider in the same panel.
- (Optional) Upload a separate mobile logo if your main logo is too wide for phone headers.
- Click Publish.
Changing the favicon
The favicon is the small icon shown in the browser tab. Set it in Theme settings → Favicon. A 32×32 PNG is the safest bet.
Where your logo appears
You only upload your logo once. The logo you set in the theme header is automatically reused across the rest of your store, so there is nothing extra to configure:
- Storefront header — on every page.
- Email notifications — order confirmations and other transactional emails use your store logo automatically.
- Checkout — shows the same store logo.
- Receipts and invoices — use the same store logo too.
If you ever change your logo, update it once in the theme header and the new logo flows through to emails, checkout, and invoices.
FAQ
Why does my logo look pixelated?
Re-upload as SVG, or use a PNG at least 2× the displayed pixel width for sharpness on retina screens.
Can I use a different logo on mobile?
Yes — the header section accepts a separate mobile logo. Use a simpler / smaller mark for phone headers.
Do I need to upload my logo separately for emails?
No. Emails, checkout, receipts, and invoices automatically use the store logo you set in the theme header — there is no separate email logo to upload.
Does the logo affect SEO?
Indirectly. Set a descriptive alt text on the logo (most themes auto-fill it with your store name) and search engines pick it up as part of your site identity.
How big should the favicon be?
32×32 PNG is the safe default. Some themes also accept a higher-resolution version and downscale automatically for different devices.
