Use the Abandoned Orders section to recover lost sales

Abandoned orders are checkouts where a shopper added items to their cart and started checkout but never completed payment. LaunchMyStore tracks these draft orders so you can follow up, recover revenue, and understand where buyers drop off.

Open the Abandoned Orders list

  1. Sign in to your LaunchMyStore admin.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Orders.
  3. Select the Abandoned tab. You will see every abandoned checkout, the customer (if known), the cart value, and the time it was abandoned.

Search and filter

  • Search by reference ID, email, or customer name to find a specific cart.
  • Filter by date range (today, 7 days, 30 days, lifetime, or custom) to focus on a window.

Automatic abandoned-cart recovery emails

On the Platinum plan, LaunchMyStore automatically sends a templated recovery email to the shopper with a link back to their cart. The email is triggered automatically once a checkout has been left idle for about half an hour—there is nothing to schedule or send by hand. Recovery emails are a Platinum-plan feature; on other plans the abandoned list still records the checkouts so you can review them, but the automatic email is not sent.

If you do not want LaunchMyStore to send platform emails, you can opt out of automated emails in your store email preferences. Discount apps from the marketplace (for example a tiered-discount or first-purchase coupon) can be combined with the recovery flow to lift conversion further.

What counts as abandoned

A cart becomes "abandoned" when the buyer reaches the checkout (contact, address, or payment step) and then leaves without completing payment. Once the buyer pays, the row moves out of Abandoned into Orders > All.

FAQ

How soon does an abandoned checkout appear in the list?

As soon as the buyer reaches the checkout page and enters their email or contact details. A pending checkout is confirmed as abandoned roughly 30 minutes after it is left idle, once the payment has been verified as incomplete.

Can I send a manual follow-up to a single customer?

There is no manual send button. On the Platinum plan, the recovery email is sent automatically once the checkout has been idle for about half an hour, so you do not need to trigger it yourself. The email includes a link back to the shopper's cart.

Will an abandoned cart be charged later?

No. An abandoned cart is just an intent record; no payment was captured. If the shopper returns through the recovery link, they complete checkout normally and a new order is created.

Why am I not seeing recovery emails go out?

Automatic recovery emails are sent only on the Platinum plan, and only when the abandoned checkout has a customer email on file. If your store is on another plan, or you have opted out of automated platform emails in your email preferences, the email will not be sent—but the abandoned checkout is still recorded in the list.

Do abandoned carts count in my analytics?

No. Abandoned checkouts are excluded from your sales totals and order count, so they do not inflate your revenue or conversion figures. You review them in the Abandoned tab rather than in the sales analytics.
