LaunchMyStore POS is the register for selling in person. It uses the same products, stock, customers and orders as your online store, so a sale at the counter and a sale online always draw from the same stock. This guide gets you from switching POS on to your first sale, and links to every other POS guide.
Get POS for your store
- The Platinum plan includes POS for 2 stores.
- On any plan you can add the POS Seat Add-on — $49 per store (seat) per month. It is on the Upgrade Plan page under Store Settings > Plans, below the plan cards.
- If your account has several stores, choose which stores use your seats under Store Settings > Plans > Pick which stores get POS.
A store without POS sees POS is a Platinum feature or POS isn't enabled for this store when it opens the register. If you have bought seats and still see this, contact support.
What you need
- A computer or tablet with Chrome or Edge — they connect to USB receipt printers, cash drawers and scales. See POS hardware: receipt printer, barcode scanner, cash drawer.
- Optional: staff accounts with their own PINs. See POS multi-staff & permissions.
Your first sale, step by step
1. Open the register
In your admin, click POS in the sidebar, then Open POS Tool.
2. Set your PIN
The first time, the register asks you to Set a 4-digit PIN to secure POS. From then on, everyone picks their name under Who's using POS? and enters their PIN. After 5 wrong PINs, that person is locked out for 15 minutes.
3. Choose a register style
Pick Standard or Quick billing. You can change it later. See POS register styles: Standard and Quick billing.
4. Open a shift
Enter the cash you are starting the drawer with and click Open shift. See POS shifts: opening, closing, X and Z reports.
5. Ring up a sale
- Search for a product, tap a favourite, or scan its barcode.
- Click Checkout Now.
- Choose Cash, check the change due, and click Complete sale.
With a receipt printer paired, the receipt prints and the cash drawer opens.
Find your way around
- Home — the sale screen: search, favourites, the cart and checkout.
- Products — your catalogue, favourites and the camera scanner.
- Orders — past sales: receipts, refunds, exchanges and notes.
- Customer — look up a customer and add them to the sale.
- More — shift, reports, billing settings, hardware, staff and everything else.
- Lock (top of the screen) — hands the register to the next cashier.
What a sale records
- An order in your admin's Orders, like an online order.
- Stock taken off the warehouse the shift was opened with.
- Cash added to the shift's drawer when paid in cash.
- The cashier who made the sale, for reports and the activity log.
- An order confirmation email to the customer, if the sale has a customer with an email address.

FAQ
Can I use the POS without internet?
Yes, for cash, card-machine and UPI QR sales. They are saved on the register and sent when you are back online. See Using the POS offline.
Do I need a card reader?
No. Cash works straight away, and Manual Card records a payment taken on your own card machine. A Stripe Terminal reader is optional.
Can one register serve two shops?
Each store needs its own POS seat, and each register sells from the warehouse its shift was opened with.
